SoulCollage® workshop offered for women veterans this month at the Columbus VA

The Veterans Art Initiative (VAI) at the Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center is offering a special SoulCollage® workshop for women veterans on April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held virtually as COVID-19 restrictions continue at all VA facilities. In order to participate, veterans need to be enrolled in the VA Whole Health Program. For information on how to get enrolled in VA Whole Health and to sign up for the event, contact Heather Seymour at (614) 388-7607. Space is limited to 20 participants.

SoulCollage®, developed by Seena B. Frost, a psychotherapist in California, in 1998, is a creative process of making mini-collages on 5"x8" cards that facilitates a dialogue with your deeper self. Participants create a deck of cards using found images from magazines and books that can then be used to visualize participants' life's journey and purpose. They can be used for meditation, visioning, manifestation, self exploration and self acceptance. The cards are meant for participants to get in touch with their own unique self or soul.

SoulCollage® is a registered trademark by Seena B. Frost. She details the whole process in two books, SoulCollage (2001) and SoulCollage Evolving (2010).

"It is a tangible way to know yourself in your diversity and depth, and also to show yourself to others. Showing your deck of SoulCollage® cards to another person can be a profound experience. In like-spirited groups, you can share cards and work with them in many sacred ways. You can consult them intuitively and discover wisdom within yourself which will amaze you. Besides all this, creating them is just plain fun! You will love your deck -- a multi-card Mirror of your Self and your Soul -- whether it consists of three cards or a hundred, " Frost said on her website, soulcollage.com.
