Nominate a deserving employer today for AMVETS Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year Award
The AMVETS Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year Award program recognizes employers from the private sector and government (local, state, and federal) who have made great strides by employing veterans. There is also a Special Award for individuals assisting veterans, preparing them for employment, and finding veteran-friendly employers and resources. These individuals would be from Workforce Boards, other government, and private agencies that assist veterans.
Deadline for nominations is 31 May, 2020.
The Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year Award, for the private sector and government, recognizes the dedication to improve the lives of veterans. By their commitment to:
Serving veterans through their hiring practices
Including veterans in their organizational culture
Being active in community service and fundraisers for veterans and their families

The Special Award for individuals is based on their commitment to:
Serve veterans by assisting them with employment, finding resources, and more
Serving veterans with barriers to employment
Percentage of veterans assisted found jobs and how many retained them
Who Can Make Nominations:
Any member of AMVETS, Ladies Auxiliary, or Sons of AMVETS
Local Veteran Employment Representative (LVER) or Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Representative (DVOP) at county and regional Workforce Development Centers
Employer associations, Chamber of Commerce, employment agencies, etc.
Self-nomination
We hope you will take the time to nominate a employer in your community or an individual that exemplifies a Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year. Employers are also encouraged to submit nominations.
Awards are given at the AMVETS National Convention in August.
