VA honors women veterans at all Ohio locations
Women veterans are being honored at all VA locations in Ohio this month.
Cleveland VA
The “We Served “project is a powerful photography exhibit featuring 12 portraits of women Veteran employees from VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System.
There are more than 16,600 women Veterans in Northeast Ohio - a number that continues to rise at a breaking pace - representing 8% of Northeast Ohio’s total Veteran population. And yet, women Veterans continue to face significant barriers and challenges in accessing necessary health care and other services, while experiencing a lack of recognition unlike their male counterparts.
By spotlighting women Veteran VA employees who represent this diverse and important segment of the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, the “We Served” exhibit aims to increase awareness and dialogue about women Veterans for employees, Veterans and visitors, as well as open viewers’ eyes to the myriad contributions, needs, and experiences of women who have served in the military.
The exhibit will be on view throughout the month of March.
