AMVETS supports Second Call of Duty program

First Vice Commander Sara E McIntyre-Pierce spoke about AMVETS' commitment to Secretary of State Frank LaRose's Second Call of Duty program aimed at recruiting veterans as poll workers to ensure a successful Presidential Election at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus this afternoon. Her speech can be seen halfway through this video. Second Call of Duty is an awareness campaign to recruit poll workers for the upcoming Presidential Election in November. AMVETS members are encouraged to apply to be poll workers as the need is great. Poll workers are essential to the success of the election as not all voters will be voting during the early voting period or by absentee ballot.

Ohio Attorney General switching to online payment system

The Ohio Attorney General is switching to a online payment system. Message from the Ohio AG's office: In our continuing effort to promote accountability and transparency within the charitable sector, the Ohio Attorney General’s office will soon be switching to an online payment only system. Effective September 17, 2020, we will no longer accept paper checks as payment for charitable registration fees and late fees. All payments must be made by credit card or e-check on our website through our secure payment portal. Eliminating payments through mailed checks will enable our office to process payments more efficiently, reduce unnecessary paper waste, and free our staff to spend more time direc
