Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, commonly referred to as PTSD, is a type of anxiety disorder that develops after exposure to a traumatic event. An event can be considered traumatic if it is terrifying, shocking, or extremely stressful. Military service members are at considerable risk for developing PTSD due to the traumatic nature of combat. Many veterans have either witnessed traumatic events or directly experienced them during their service, making them increasingly susceptible to unwanted and troublesome symptoms associated with PTSD. Many people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) also experience co-occurring alcohol abuse or addiction. While alcohol may temporarily numb the symptoms of PTSD, it can ultimately worsen this condition. Seeking treatment for both of these disorders is the best way to overcome both conditions and lead a fulfilling life in sobriety. https://www.addictioncampuses.com/alcohol/ptsd-and-alcoholism/

Of the 3,300 individuals diagnosed with mesothelioma every year, approximately 30 percent of them are veterans. This is largely because many veterans lived and worked in areas heavily polluted with asbestos. Therefore, we at Mesothelioma Hub are making it our mission to provide our resource to as many people as possible and we would love to be included on your website. www.mesotheliomahub.com/veterans/asbestos-in-the-military
