In Memoriam: Col. Daniel Snyder

Col. Daniel M. Snyder, a life member and contributor to the AMVETS Department of Ohio Constitution and By-Laws, passed away on 30 August 2019. The youngest of three children, Col. Snyder graduated from Ada High School in 1953. He then attended Wooster college for two years before transferring to The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in political science in 1956 as well as a law degree from the OSU College of Law in 1958. In 1957 Col. Snyder married Mary Snyder. Mary passed away in 2008 and he then married Barbara McCrory and together they have four children and 10 grandchildren. Col. AMVETS Elects Organization’s First Female National Commander

American Veterans (AMVETS) elected Jan Brown to serve as the organization’s 2019 – 2020 National Commander during AMVETS’ 75th Annual National Convention in Louisville, KY, August 24. The election signifies a milestone in AMVETS’ history, as Commander Brown will be the first female Commander for the organization. “I thank my AMVETS family for putting their confidence in me to lead this organization,” said Brown. “I promise that I will always represent AMVETS in the very best light.” Every year AMVETS Commanders take on a veteran-related project in an effort to bring awareness to certain issues and serve veterans across the nation.
