AMVETS recognized by Ohio National Guard

The ONEGA recognized Servicemembers of the Year, both Army and Air, at its annual Awards Banquet on July 27 at the Longaberger Alumni House on the campus of The Ohio State University. Members of the Ohio National Guard Enlisted Association and AMVETS State Commander Andy McElrath and Executive Director Don McCauley presented special awards to these Soldiers and Airmen who are distinguished as "the best of the best" in the Ohio National Guard over the past year. Ohio AMVETS honors Pat O'Brien as Employer of the Year in Vermilion

Pat O'Brien Jr. received an honorable July 3 at his Pat O'Brien Chevrolet dealership at 2315 State Route 60 in Vermilion. O'Brien, owner of the dealership, was presented with an award from the Ohio AMVETS as the 2018/2019 Employer of the Year for his company's donations made to local veterans in need. O'Brien was nominated by the AMVETS Post 22 of Vermilion. Employees from the Willoughby Hills, Westlake, Medina and Vermilion locations, AMVETS commanders and local from around the state were in attendance for the presentation of the Lorain native's award. Ohio Women Veterans Conference to be Held in August 2019 (Columbus) – Registration is now open for the biennial Ohio Women Veterans Conference to be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Ohio Union at The Ohio State University. Optional pre-conference activities will kick off the conference on Friday, August 9.
