I hope this letter finds everyone healthy and safe during this COVID19 Pandemic. I know that the closing of posts these past couple of months has been financially trying for the posts and probably even more so for their employees.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The VA has many different treatment options for veterans who experienced military sexual trauma (MST). During the COVID-19 crisis, the VA is offering TeleHealth options over walk-in appointments among other options.
AMVETS Post Post 44 in Youngstown organized a free food distribution for veterans in the Youngstown area on Saturday, April 18. Post 44 received more than five pallets of produce, bread, drinks, canned goods and more donated by Gleaners Food Bank.
AMVETS Post 2256 and Wright-Patterson AFB have partnered to bring an Armed Forces Blood Drive to AMVETS Post 2256 in Circleville on April 29 as part of the Armed Services Blood Program. The drive, originally scheduled at the Chillicothe VA, has been moved to Post 2256 due to COVID-19.
Two veterans, one from World War II and the Vietnam War, have survived worse than the threat of coronavirus. They worry more about the division in our country than the disease itself as they try to cope with life on lockdown in the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.

AMVETS Post 21 in Findlay has been delivering hot meals five days a week (Monday-Friday) between 11 and 2 p.m. for veterans in need plus spouses, widows and widowers of veterans in need at no cost since March 30.
Some questions have been coming in regarding upcoming elections and post meetings; National Commander Jan Brown has stated that National will not look negatively on any post or department that is delayed with their elections due to COVID-19.
