
AMVETS State Turkey Shoot Rules
1. Tournament is open to AMVETS, Auxiliary and Sons of AMVETS
2. All Shooters much have a current membership card
3. No member will shoot for a Post they are not a member of if their post is part of the shoot.
4. Team make-up consist of 3 to 5 members, no more, no less.
5. A Post may have more than one team
6. No shooter will shoot on more than two teams per shoot
7. Host post shall provide a solid rest approximately 46 high
8. Shooter can shoot off hand or use the rest
9. Individual supports, sandbags, etc, are legal
10. Scopes, Ironsights are permitted
11. Barrel length is 36 maximum
12. Minimum bore is .675
13. All guns to be measured and bore checked
14. NO BULLS BARRELS
15. All ammunition is to be 2 Ύ gram powder, 7 ½ or 8 shot
16. Guns are 12 gauge shotguns only
17. Targets will have a 3 diameter circle with 7 inner scoring rings (10-9-8-7-6-5-4)
18. Shooting distance will be 90 to 100
19. Targets must be 4 ½ to 5 ½ feet off the ground
20. Shooters will be allowed to see the 1st card shot
21. BB cutting line will be counted at the value of the higher line
22. There will be three (3) rounds. The highest total points of the three (3) rounds wins
23. If a card is double shot, re-shoot that card. Missed targets will not be re-shot
24. One scorer from each participating district will be used (if possible)
25. No alcoholic beverages permitted in the shooting area.
26. Anyone appearing to be intoxicated will be removed from the shooting area.
27. Practice rounds permitted at a maximum of $1.00 per shot
28. Maximum allotted time for shoot is 2 ½ to 3 hours.
29. All results to be announced at the sponsoring Post within 5 hours of start of shoot.
· SPONSORING POST WILL FURNISH FOUL WEATHER SHELTER, BATHROOM FACILITIES, TARGETS, AMMO, AND PERSONNEL FOR HANDLING AND RETRIEVING TARGETS. Districts may modify any of the items in this paragraph, for their event.
