NAMI Survey on Veterans and Mental Health

NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness, supports millions of Americans everyday who face mental illness. They are the nation’s largest grassroots mental health advocacy organization and offer help to people with bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, LGBTQ, veterans, and much more.

AMVETS is dedicated to helping our veterans back home, including helping veterans with PTSD or TBI. Nearly 1 out of 4 active duty veterans show signs of a mental health condition. We are partnering with NAMI to promote their "Veterans and Mental Health Survey". Anyone who is a veteran, a caretaker/family member of a veteran, or personally knows a veteran can take this survey. The goal is to help NAMI find better ways to care and assist veterans in need of their services.

To take their 10 question survey, follow this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SHLXZ8P

If you are a caretaker or family member of a veteran, NAMI has some helpful information to help. Read their general information about common mental illnesses with veterans here or read specific actions a loved one can do to help a veteran suffering from PTSD here.

If you need extra assistance, NAMI Homefront is a free, 6-session educational program for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and vets with mental health conditions. Read more about that here.

Thank you for your time, and please share this survey with others. Together, we can overcome.
