The Ohio AMVETS Scholarship programs provide opportunities for advanced education for the sons and daughters of American Veterans, spouse and for former members of the Armed Forces who have exhausted government financial aid.
OHIO AMVETS AND SONS OF AMVETS
Lee and Jim Tressel Scholarship
This scholarship is for graduating high school students and/or adults who are beginning their freshman year of undergraduate study at an accredited college or university. Only one scholarship will be awarded each year in the amount of $2000.00. The applicant must submit all requested items with the application. The applicant must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average to be eligible to receive the scholarship. This award is based upon the student applicant's scholastic aptitude, participation in high school sports, and demonstration of financial need.
OHIO AMVETS
State Service Foundation Scholarship
The State Service Foundation Scholarship is for graduating high school students, adults wishing to enter into a course of study at an accredited college or university, or college students already enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university. Each scholarship is in the total amount of $1,000.00, payable in grants of $500.00 per year toward tuition. The State Service Foundation Scholarship is only for undergraduate study and will not be awarded for more than four years.
Scholarships will only be awarded for attendance at an accredited College, University, Junior College, Community College, Trade or Technical School and paid directly to the school of the recipient’s choice.
